Matrix/Corolla XRS!

Sensible, because it’s a Toyota. Somewhat efficient (25 MPG, or thereabouts), available with a manual, and fun due to the revvy as hell 2ZZ. And it’s dead reliable, because it’s a Corolla. I’m pretty sure you could easily find one under 7 grand US.

According to Wikipedia, only the 06 GTP had a 6 speed manual option. Then, in 2007, the GT offered it as well. It’s kinda hard to decipher it all to be honest. That car had several configs and trim levels and options etc. 1 year the top trim was GTP, the following year it was GT etc. But all that aside, I have NEVER seen a manual version of that car, ever. So I would be intrigued...
